Cables Launches Points Program to Kick Off Its Onchain RWA Ecosystem

July 21, 2025 — George Town, Cayman Islands  Cables, the emerging DeFi platform bringing yield-bearing real-world assets (RWAs) onchain through a unified staking and yield platform, has officially launched its Points Program platform. Starting today, users can actively stake, refer, and complete tasks to begin accruing points that will go towards the upcoming airdrop later this year.

The launch marks the beginning of an onchain rollout designed to connect yield, trading, and collateral into a single composable system built around productive RWAs like tokenized gold, euros, and other non-USD assets.

A Launch Designed for Participation

The Points Program is the first public phase of the Cables ecosystem. Early users can now begin earning points through platform activity such as staking supported assets, referring others to the platform, completing daily check ins, and will eventually be able to participate in asset listing votes (this feature will not be available at launch but is slated to go live soon after initial launch). Each action contributes to a user’s overall point total and tier, which will carry weight in future campaigns, airdrops, and governance initiatives.

Every point is tracked, and everything users do today will influence how they’re rewarded in future phases.”

The Cables Points Program is launching with a clear purpose: activate the community early and reward real participation before the platform scales. A significant portion of the token’s genesis distribution is set aside for contributors, with a focus on rewarding long-term engagement and aligned participation.

Multipliers, Momentum, and Early Advantage

Built into the system are compounding reward mechanics designed to incentivize early and consistent participation. Users can increase their points through a combination of staking multipliers and referral bonuses to start, with voting eventually also contributing to point allocation. For staking, the longer the lock duration, the stronger the multiplier. Referrals reward network effects by giving users a percentage of the points earned by those they bring in.

Points accumulated through this system will influence the bespoke tier system - a reputation layer that Cables says will impact access to future opportunities on the platform.

The tier system acts as a long-term identity layer, tracking user contribution over time and unlocking access to priority rewards, exclusive campaigns, and future governance rights as the ecosystem expands.

Bridging Real World Liquidity to Onchain Infrastructure

Cables is positioning itself as a core financial layer for real-world markets moving onchain. The platform is built around the idea that RWAs - assets like FX, commodities, and equities - shouldn’t be trapped in permissioned vaults or off-chain contracts. Instead, they should function like DeFi-native primitives: staked, collateralized, and traded in real-time.

“Gold is trading at all-time highs. FX volumes are in the trillions daily. But until now, DeFi hasn’t had a system that makes these assets actually usable. That’s what we’re building,” cofounder Ian McAfee said.

Following the Points Program launch, Cables will roll out its Liquid Staking layer, giving users access to yield-bearing RWA assets. These assets will form the foundation for future trading features currently in development, with plans to enable broader market access and cross-asset utility as the system evolves.
