Sony launches ‘Soneium For All’ incubator to support Web3 gaming and consumer apps on Ethereum L2

Sony Block Solutions Labs, the blockchain subsidiary under the Japanese entertainment giant, today announced the launch of "Soneium For All," a new incubator program aimed at accelerating the development of consumer and gaming applications on its Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain, Soneium .

The initiative is a collaborative effort with Astar Network and Startale Cloud Services, and will receive investment support from the Sony Innovation Fund.

"Soneium For All" incubator is designed to address go-to-market challenges such as user acquisition and technical scalability, with the goal of boosting Web3 gaming and consumer apps with high potential.

Developers accepted into the program will build on Soneium network, leveraging its traffic, IP integrations, and Sony's global infrastructure. Selected projects will be featured on Soneium's official channels, including blog features, AMAs, livestream sessions, and marketing campaigns.

Outside of investment and advisory support from Sony Innovation Fund, Astar Network and Startale Cloud Services are planning to support the participants with additional grants and tech infrastructure.

Applications for "Soneium For All" are open starting today, June 9. Winners are expected to be announced in late July, with project deployments commencing shortly thereafter.

Soneium, officially launched this January, currently has over 7 million users, more than $215 million in total value locked (TVL), and roughly 1.5 million daily transactions, according to the press release. The platform currently powers major intellectual properties, including Solo Leveling, Seven Deadly Sins and Ghost in the Shell.
