Artificial Superintelligence Alliance proposes integrating DePIN project Cudos, token merger

The Artificial Superintelligence Alliance, a decentralized AI research and development collective formed between Fetch.ai, SingularityNET and Ocean Protocol, has proposed integrating a fourth crypto project, Cudos, and merging tokens.

The merger between the three founding members, proposed in March and approved in April, aimed to capitalize on the rise of AI and growth of the projects to create decentralized infrastructure at scale and accelerate investment into AI, they said at the time.

Cudos is a Decentralised Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) for AI compute, leveraging decentralized technology to deliver scalable and cost-efficient compute resources.

The integration is subject to majority approval of both the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance and Cudos communities, with voting on the proposal set to open on Sept. 19 and close on Sept. 24.

If approved, the Cudos token will be merged with the alliance’s cryptocurrency, FET, at a 112.427:1 conversion ratio. However, as Cudos is a non-founding member of the alliance, the project agreed that all token merge transactions would be vested between three to 10 months and include a 5% fee, according to a statement shared with The Block. As a result, the adjusted rate falls to 118.344 Cudos tokens per FET, and the current circulating supply of 2.5 billion FET tokens would increase by a further 88,946,755.672 FET.

The merger transaction fee would be used for marketing, research and development, integration and legal fees, plus any other costs associated with the token merger, according to the alliance. The Cudos blockchain will continue to operate until further notice, allowing time for all participants to transition and swap their tokens if the proposal is successful, it added.

Building a decentralized AI technology stack Earlier this year, Fetch.ai and SingularityNET invested a combined $153 million in GPU hardware to provide the computational power required for large-scale AI and machine learning projects. Integrating with Cudos' global distributed computing network would provide access to thousands of advanced AI GPUs, including Nvidia's latest Blackwell GB200s, boosting capacity for decentralized AI innovations, according to the alliance.

“The Artificial Superintelligence Alliance is the largest AI blockchain alliance, and Cudos is the most advanced real-world and blockchain computer network; together we have an unprecedented opportunity to build the largest vertically integrated decentralized AI technology stack,” Cudos founder Matt Hawkins said.

The alliance claims Cudos’ distributed network of independently operated suppliers offers significant advantages compared to traditional centralized approaches, ensuring resilient, scalable solutions that are not reliant on a single provider, and offering premium AI infrastructure such as NVIDIA H100 GPUs at around half the cost of Amazon Web Services (AWS).

“The integration of Cudos into the alliance will move us forward dramatically in the area of computing hardware infrastructure, one of the critical ingredients we need to fulfill our mission,” SingularityNET CEO Ben Goertzel added.
