Blockchain Developer is the fastest growing job in 2018

Blockchain Developer is the fastest growing job in 2018 according to LinkedIn's annual Emerging Jobs Report released on Thursday. Blockchain developer jobs have experienced a 33x growth this year while the second fastest growing job was Machine Learning Engineer with a 12x growth. LinkedIn states that the growth can be explained by "following this year’s surge in interest around blockchain and cryptocurrency" but that only time will tell whether it is a long-standing trend in the job market or just a fad.

LinkedIn found that top skills for blockchain developers are Solidity, Blockchain, Ethereum, Cryptocurrency and Node.js. The report said that most of the blockchain devs work at IBM, ConsenSys and Chainyard and demand is the highest in San Francisco, New York City and Atlanta.
