BitPay, one of the largest cryptocurrency payment processing firms, is bringing Worldpay US veteran Glen Braganza onboard as its CFO, the company announced today.

The hire comes on the heels of the news that BitPay is partnering with Corporate Travellers, a UK business travel management firm, to help it accept bitcoins and bitcoin cash payments. As BitPay edges into the mainstream payments business, Braganza is expected to steer the company more in that direction.

“Over the past few years, BitPay has seen record growth as businesses realize the potential blockchain payments deliver globally,” BitPay CEO Stephen Pair said in a statement. “Glen’s experience is a key advantage to BitPay as the team moves the company into the mainstream to help businesses leverage blockchain for fast consumer transactions and easy global payments.”

Before Bitpay, Braganza served as CFO for Worldpay US, a global payment provider that processes over $150 billion in payment volume annually. During his 10-year tenure, the firm led a $7.4 billion IPO in 2015 and witnessed a valuation growth from $3.8 billion to $13.1 billion.

Founded in 2011, BitPay helps businesses process cross-border blockchain payments, manage their digital wallets, and turn digital assets into dollars through its prepaid Visa card. So far, the company has raised $70 million in total funding, backed by Founders Fund and Index Ventures, among others.
